Year 2 had a very special visitor recently. Dr. John Daniels, who used to be a headmaster in Ponteland came into our class to tell us all about an expedition he took to the rainforest. One of the things he was doing while he was there was to try and track and observe gorillas and chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
He had wonderful pictures of his adventure and he even brought in artifacts from his journey. He even made the children tuck their pants into their socks to stop the ants crawling up their legs, just like he had to do when he was there.
All the children were very interested in his story and loved getting involved with the butterfly work he had prepared for us at the end of his exciting recount.
