ICT - Scratch

Neptune class together with Mercury class recently visited Marden City Learning Centre to work for a whole day on a project to create timed knock, knock jokes using a program called Scratch.

Scratch is software which allows you to program your own interactive stories, games and animations. You can also share your creations with others in the online community if you choose to.

Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively.

The children had lots of fun and experience using the state of the art technology and were encouraged by the leading teacher of the event to raise standards in lifelong learning and to “explore to excel” through the use of ICT.

The event has really helped the children develop their ICT skills in a very fun and creative way.

Also, the software the students have used is all web-based and free, meaning that they can easily utilise their new skills in other subjects once they return to school.
