Visiting Northumberland Park

Reception Class will be visiting Northumberland Park every fortnight

The children have their own designated area of the Park and this is called 'Their Island' Over looked by Captain Ed their guardian.

During our visits we will get to see the seasonal changes and explore the plant and animal life. We hope to build dens to hide in, build traps to catch a giant or grizzly bear and even a dinosaur! The children will have the opportunity to draw pictures and write about their experiences back at school and we can't wait to see what they deliver from their experiences.

It's a totally new experience as the children create their own adventures with the adults scaffolding this to help them succeed.

On our last visit we had great fun, sliding down banks of mud, collecting ingredients for smelly cocktails, building camp fires and looking for worms!
