This week the children discussed community. They learned about what community means and what it is to be part of one.
After that, the children looked at their portrait pictures they took last week. Thay talked about the things they particularly liked about them such as depth of field and light and shade.
Finally, the children were given the challenge, using their newly acquired camera skills, to take at least 10 pictures of the school building and pupils to promote Christ Church school. The pictures had to include natural portraiture, the building using the lines of 3 and details. They were set the challenge as if a glossy magazine company had given them this job, so had to be very particular about the images they took and eventually chose. All of the photos had to be in focus and could not include any other children or people floating in the background as these types of images would not be up to standard for the magazine.
