The Newcastle Eagles Hoops for Health team came in to work with us all to prepare us for an up and coming basketball competition we have been invited to at the brand new stadium in Newcastle. We were shown many skills and even a few tricks. It was hard work and we all had so much fun. We can't wait for the next visit in school and, of course, the competition.
This week the children focused on playing games and being more focused and more precise with their footwork, passing and defending. They were taught the acronym BEEF to help them shoot. B = balance, E = eyesight, E = elbows and F = flick. With some more school practice, they will be more than ready for the tournament.
