Our design technology lessons this term have seen us making our own hand puppets!
We started by making 4 different designs and then choosing our favourite. The puppet has to be used to tell a story to a younger child.
After that we created a final design and made a list of the materials and techniques we will need to produce our puppet.
Then it came to making a template from our hand and cutting this out of felt twice to form a front and a back for the puppet.
We'll sew them together and then use different decoration techniques to finish our puppets off. More photos coming soon!
Try it yourselves!
Why not make a smaller finger puppet from an old pair of gloves or a sock puppet. You could draw on a face with felt tips or attach details like googly eyes or buttons and other scraps of material to make your own puppet.
Then you could put on a show!
