Making Bath Bombs

As part of our Changing Materials topic in Science and for a special Mother's day treat, we decided to make bath bombs. They were really easy to create but we were afraid they would crumble when we released them from the molds, but we were wonderfully surprised by the outcome.
We carefully mixed together bicarbonate of soda, citric acid and salt then combined with oil, fragrance and soap colouring to produce the bath bomb. The bath bomb was pushed tightly into a mold and left to dry
Then they are put into water at home we were able to see an irreversible reaction producing carbon dioxide.
