Remote Learning whilst school is open

Christ Church CofE Primary School Remote Learning

At Christ Church, we are operating a 3 Tier approach to remote learning.

Tier 1

Child is off school waiting for a test result but feeling well enough to access learning. This should only be for a few days. If a child recieves a negative test result, they can return to school as soon as they are well enough. If a positive test results is received they will move to tier 2.

Work provided in tier 1 will be available on our school website or via a pack that the child can either take home (if they are sent home from school) or be dropped off for the child. This work will consist of access to our online learning programs such as tt rockstars and short projects.

Tier 2

If a child is unable to come to come to school due to them self isolating due to being contacted by track and trace or a household member has tested positive.

Remote learning will be provided by Google classroom (Year 3,4,5 and 6) Seesaw (Nursery,Reception, year 1 and 2). Tasks will be put onto the site in the morning. We will provide tasks that should allow your child to get on with the work independently. Please note that in this case, teachers and classroom assistants are in school working and so will not be able to answer questions or respond to comments straight away, although they will check during the day between the hours of 9am and 3.30pm. Any comments outside these times will be responded to the next day.

If you have requested work packs then these will link to the remote learning and be available the day after you have let us know that your child is self isolating. These will be dropped off at home.

Tier 3

If a whole bubble of children are unable to attend school due to a child testing positive then the class teacher will provide remote learning by Google classroom (Year 3,4,5 and 6) Seesaw (Nursery,Reception, year 1 and 2). Tasks will be put onto the site in the morning and the class teacher will be able to support the children with the work throughout the school day- between the hours of 9am and 3.30pm. Any comments outside these times will be responded to the next day.

If you have requested work packs then these will link to the remote learning and be available the day that the bubble is closed. These will be dropped off at home.

(please note- if the class teacher is unwell then the classroom assistant associated with the class will respond to comments on google classroom or see saw. Work will be provide and set by teaching assistants supported by senior leaders )
What should I do if my child, member of my household or support bubble develops Covid Symptoms?

Opening School in September
Dear Parents and Carers,

We cannot thank you enough for all of support during these last few weeks. We also appreciate all of the hard work that you are putting in to support us with home learning. We wanted to let you know not to worry if you are struggling to get into a daily routine, or if some days you think you've cracked it but then others you just really haven't.

For the time being just play and read together as much as you can whilst we all adjust to this new way of working. As teachers, we fully understand how difficult it is for children to learn when things change or are a bit different. Do what you can with the home learning resources that we are providing, but don't feel under pressure or judged. If you do want any help or advice we are at the end of a phone or email. Sing, dance, cook, play games, use the garden- use the time to do things that you don't normally have time for. The time you spend together and the fun you have as a family, will stay with the children long after this is all over.

When we are back, we will meet the children where they are and support them to get to where they need to be academically- trust us! We really hope this well be sooner rather than later.

Stay home, Stay safe and Stay happy
