Segedunum

Segedunum

Year 4 had a very interesting day at Segedunum. We saw Mr Brown get dressed as a smart Roman soldier. There were a lot of layers and we learnt about them all and why they were needed.
After that, we took part in three different tasks.
1. We had our shields and swords to fight against the Celts. It was important to stand in formation and move together.
2. There were lots of different jobs we had to do as members of the Roman army and we had to find the correct equipment to do them.
3. There were replica Roman items to investigate and use.
Then, we went up the tower to see the area from high up.
Next, we looked around the museum. We could dress up as Romans, build different things, look at mini versions of a Roman scene and a lot more.
Finally, we walked to the replica Hadrian's Wall.
