This week, the children were introduced to the project, how it will work and what they will be doing. They were shown an old vintage video about a man who worked on the North Shields ferry 50 years ago. They then looked at still photos from the film and discussed when they thought, could see and what was the story being told. After that, the children were introduced to the SLR cameras that they will be using throughout this project. They were shown how to take them out of the case, how to hold them, how to be respectful with them, what they could and couldn't take pictures of and how to actually take a photograph. This is the beginning of our project, it was already very exciting. The whole class cannot wait to find out what we will be researching and what new skills we will be learning next week.
