This half term, Year 5 have been working on their netball skills in PE. The children have focused on sending and receiving the ball in a variety of ways and moving into a suitable space after passing. They have worked on the basic netball rules which include not moving with the ball and using a pivot to move around on one spot to find a team player to pass to. As a group we enjoyed playing a game in which the children had to use dodging and signaling to get away from a defender in order to receive the ball. Some of us were very good at tricking our opponents! As well as using tactics during our games, the children have incorporated some important values into each lesson including fair play, respect, team work and determination.
